The Department of Student Development (SD) aims to provide all Singapore Polytechnic students with a positive and holistic Polytechnic experience through meaningful co-curricular, sports and wellness programmes.
As part of the Sports & Wellness team, the Assistant Manager will support the planning, coordination and delivery of student development programmes across Sports Excellence, Wellness for Life (WFL) and Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) clubs. The appointee will contribute to the formulation and implementation of student development programmes and related policies, manage and mentor student CCA groups and provide opportunities for leadership and character development. The role involves working closely with students, instructors and both internal and external stakeholders to organise SP-wide events that enhance campus vibrancy, as well as to coordinate and facilitate experiential learning initiatives. The appointee will also support the operational and administrative systems and processes of the department and section and may be required to serve on departmental or institutional committees. [What you will be working on]
Sports Excellence
Support the delivery of Sports Excellence programmes for student-athletes in alignment with SD’s development framework
Coordinate training programmes, competitions and participation in events such as POL-ITE and IVP
Liaise with coaches, instructors and affiliated bodies to support training and competition requirements
Assist in coach and instructor management, including coordination of ITQs, renewals, briefings, observations and After-Action Reviews (AARs)
Support administrative aspects of sports scholarships, athlete tracking and recognition activities
Coordinate booking and usage of sports facilities to support training, competitions and student activities
Wellness for Life (WFL)
Support the end-to-end operational delivery of WFL modules, including coordination of instructors, venues and schedules
Assist with learning platform setup, attendance tracking and results processing for WFL modules
Liaise with Schools and internal stakeholders on course registration, timetabling and exemption matters
Support safety and compliance requirements, including risk assessments and incident follow-up
Assist in monitoring programme outcomes and feedback and support continuous improvements to WFL delivery
Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Club Management
Plan and guide the Sports CCA cluster, including club direction, budget planning, and governance.
Conduct succession planning for 3–4 clubs annually, mentor student leaders and align club activities with SD’s development framework.
Facilitate administration including proposals, risk assessments, CCA points processing, budgeting, reviews, and conflict resolution.
Lead overseas student trip(s) annually.
Raise ITQs/renewals for coaches/instructors and work closely with them to enhance students’ development and club performance.

Display a passion for student development
Possess related knowledge in event management, mentoring/coaching students
Experience in managing events, conducting workshops/talks, managing student CCAs
Meticulous with strong operational and administrative skills
Ability to multi-task and handle several events and/or programmes concurrently
Certifications in education, student development related field i.e. mentoring youths, facilitation, etc., and sports will be an added advantage.
