[What the role is]

MANAGER/ DEPUTY MANAGER, BUS MAINTENANCE PLANNING

[What you will be working on]

Optimising Fleet Performance Through Strategic Maintenance Excellence

What the role is about:

As Manager/Deputy Manager/Assistant Manager, Bus Maintenance Planning, you will be responsible for developing and adopting best-in-class Asset Management practices that optimise fleet performance, reduce lifecycle costs and maximise return on public investment. With the rise of AI and advanced analytics, this role will spearhead our transformation towards a data-driven asset maintenance regime.
Working closely with Bus Operators, you will review their asset management regimes whilst developing critical policies on renewal and replacement of components, including batteries and other key systems. As custodian of the Bus Maintenance Management System (BMMS), you will harness artificial intelligence to unlock unprecedented insights into fleet performance, monitoring the adoption of predictive maintenance technologies for our buses.
As the government moves towards owning the entire public bus fleet of 6,000 buses, your role becomes increasingly important. Working at the intersection of technology, engineering, and strategic planning, you will not only monitor and track how Singapore's entire bus fleet is maintained and optimised throughout its lifecycle, but also directly influence policy outcomes that govern bus procurement decisions and maintenance practices across the industry.

What You Will Be Working On:

As the Manager/Deputy Manager/Assistant Manager, Bus Maintenance Planning, you will drive innovative maintenance strategies and advanced fleet optimisation initiatives that ensure operational excellence and long-term sustainability, including:

1. Strategic Maintenance Planning & Bus Systems Management: Lead comprehensive development and implementation of data-driven bus systems including Bus Maintenance Management System (BMMS), condition monitoring systems, and related platforms. Optimise these systems for asset lifecycle management, component analysis, maintenance data insights, and inventory control whilst enabling informed organisational decision-making through integrated analytics and operational efficiency.

2. AI Integration for Fleet Optimisation: Spearhead artificial intelligence-driven initiatives to enhance fleet maintenance oversight, resource allocation, and operational efficiency, driving smarter and more sustainable solutions across the entire bus network.

3. ISO Certification & Compliance Management: Champion the journey towards ISO 55001 and 9001 certifications, ensuring that all processes meet international asset management standards. Maintain continuous compliance through robust documentation, systematic audits, and strategic process improvements.

4. Performance Monitoring for Emerging Technologies: Innovate and implement comprehensive performance monitoring frameworks for new technologies, particularly focusing on electric buses. Track energy efficiency metrics, optimise maintenance costs, and ensure long-term sustainability of next-generation fleet technologies.

5. Asset Lifecycle Management & Strategic Planning: Lead lifecycle costing analyses for strategic fleet management decisions. Develop comprehensive asset replacement plans for bus systems that minimise downtime through coordinated scheduling and predictive maintenance data, ensuring cost-effective fleet operations and service continuity.

6. Business Continuity & Knowledge Management: Take comprehensive responsibility for maintaining the division's business continuity planning framework and knowledge repository, ensuring operational resilience and safeguarding against service disruptions.

Your strategic maintenance planning will directly impact fleet reliability, operational costs, and service quality, whilst positioning Singapore's public transport system as a global leader in sustainable and efficient fleet management.
