About our group: Join Seagate’s RMO Sputter Equipment Engineering team, where we engineer solutions across mechanical, electrical/electronics, PLC, software & controls, and advanced analytics. Our mission is to enhance ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machines through upgrades that improve OEE, reduce downtime, optimize processes, cut costs, and support new product conversions. We focus on driving productivity, improving media performance, and reducing defects—all while enabling next-generation technologies like HAMR and PMR. About the role - you will: Develop and maintain the Smart Sputter Maintenance System, automating PM planning, quality control, and OEE analysis. Advance the SIT (Sputter Intelligent Technician) platform to automate PM tasks, improving HPU and OEE. Refine KPIV anomaly monitoring systems for optimized HAMR and PMR configurations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Equipment, Process, Launch, Maintenance, and IT. About you: Innovative, inclusive, and integrity-driven. Your experience includes: Bachelor’s degree in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Proficiency in: Programming: Python, R, C++, C#. AI/ML: Traditional and Agentic AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning. Data Analytics & Visualization: Statistical analysis, Tableau. Database & Tools: SQL, GitHub, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker. Hands-on experience in web development (JavaScript, HTML, Django, JSON). Deployment of AI/ML models into real-world products. Experience in high-tech environments will be added advantage Ability to drive change and collaborate effectively across teams. Knowledge of Thin Film, PVD, CVD, Etch, Ion Beam, and Ion Implantation processes, along with familiarity with UHV tools, will be considered an added advantage for this role Location: Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
