Summary:

To serve as the Head of Department of ACO-PGR, which includes the Planning team, Regulatory Affairs & Change Management team, Policy & Training team and PMO team. The PLN function, which manages the budget and the resourcing for APAC regions, are providing shared service across ACO and FCOA. Also, to support the Head of ACO and FCOA to manage the organization, to develop and deliver organization strategy through providing necessary assessment and materials as well as communication with key stakeholders both in Head Office and Region for smooth and effective implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversight ACO-PGR team to provide the necessary governance and support for ACO and FCOA – oversee the effective execution of its key functions which includes but not limited to resource management, talent management, regulatory affairs and change management,

  • Partners with the relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain the business strategy to drive effectiveness, efficiency and business transformation

  • Manage effective use of budget both for ACO and FCOA to ensure costs stay within budget for relevant financial year and to achieve further cost efficiency for mid to long term

  • Develop a framework that allows greater efficiency and open communication amongst peers.

  • Create an environment to allow teams to develop and leads to take larger role in governing their areas of control and influence

  • Implement efficient measures to maximize resource allocation and/or lead cost savings within existing programs through hiring or overseeing general expense

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working within a Financial Institution.

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience at the management level.

  • Prior working experience in compliance related roles will be preferrable

  • Solid knowledge in Financials/Accounting/Managerial accounting for budget management and governance.

  • Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) with demonstrated experience communicating with Japanese stakeholders and senior management, including acting as a key point of contact across Tokyo Head Office and APAC.

  • To liaise and collaborate regularly with stakeholders in Tokyo Head Office in Japanese both written and verbal, such as reporting and consultation

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including collaborating with compliance colleagues in the Region and Head Office to support delivery of compliance function with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to build partnership across the MUFG network.

  • Ability to think strategically to develop and lead initiatives contributing to the short and long term in the region and globally with excellent analytical skills and demonstrable ability to make sound judgment

  • Experience bringing together diverse groups to solve complex problems in a collegial atmosphere.
