Description -

Job Summary
This role is responsible to manage strategic vendors and mainly related to Laser Scanning Unit (LSU) related technologies and modules, from a business and technical stand points.

He/She will work in an international organization, interacting with suppliers and organizations worldwide. He/She will have to work very close with HP Laser Printers R&D to understand new technology needs, provide market and design for cost, quality & manufacturability inputs, and industrialize the assigned parts and subsystems.

He/She will have to master the market manufacturing and components/modules suppliers for commodities like: semiconductor laser, Theta lenses, PCBA, polygon motor, modules and its integration with adjacent EP technologies (charge roller, OPC,...)others continuously improving Cost, Quality and Assurance of Supply, and identifying adjacent new business opportunities.designing engineering solutions, leading project team of other procurement engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions. The role collaborates effectively with management, internal teams, and applies developed subject matter knowledge to drive the development of moderately complex products. The role contributes to process efficiencies and resolves challenges.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the sourcing strategy of several technologies which includes:

  • Anticipating the business needs by working closely with R&D (related Technology Roadmaps SC representative), Operations and Marketing teams from HPPK and from other HP Businesses and HP Sourcing Councils worldwide.
  • Building market technology and cost intelligence at part/subsystem/function level, identifying the possible suppliers.
  • Influencing early design decisions to get the most efficient inbound supply chain for new products (dfx).
  • Considering the entire product life cycle needs.

·Responsible to select and manage the assigned suppliers which includes:

Integrating the needs of all the NPD Programs and entities

  • Manufacturing Operations, Distribution Centers,…) and driving their results.
  • Negotiating with vendors pre and post manufacturing release Cost Reduction, and the rest of business deliverables (including terms & conditions, contracts and IP handling).
  • Growing a strong partner relationship by building personal empathy and thru proactive and fair interactions.
  • Leading HP internal alignment, ensuring consistent messages to the vendors.
  • Periodical business reviews to suppliers, including performance evaluation and development  plan.

Ensure the procurement technical deliverables are met,

  • Including parts/subassemblies specs clarification, manufacturing processes, tooling,
  • Quality control plan, assurance of supply, prototypes for builds, metrology.
  • Project Mngmt skills: Able to deploy cross-organizational implementation plans thru partners, timely track progress, identify deviations and proactively take corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership, able to effectively sell own ideas, and to influence others to buy-in and follow them without having direct control.


Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, , or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in sourcing, engineering design or industrialization of LSU modules/technologies, and its implementation across hardware development lifecycle, or a related field or an advanced degree with >5 years of work experience.
