GIO is a multidisciplinary team driving the strategic orchestration of innovation activities across GovTech. Our work bridges strategic experimentation, incubation, portfolio management & ‘AI-pilled’ grassroots transformation.

About LaunchPad 

LaunchPad is GovTech’s whole-of-government innovation platform where public officers submit ideas, form teams, and bring initiatives from ideation through to incubation. It serves 80+ agencies and powers AI features like idea matching and innovation triage. LP 2.0 evolves the platform with a headless CMS, multi-agent AI, and scalable cloud deployment — with engineers owning meaningful parts of the system. 

[What you will be working on] 

Innovation Platform & Engineering (LaunchPad2.0) 

• Design and build LaunchPad2.0 as a flagship full-stack platform powering innovation across WOG 

• Own meaningful parts of the system — from data models and APIs to user-facing experiences and releases 

• Help reimagine the platform through a modern architecture (Directus CMS, AWS  / Northflank, scalable cloud services) 

• Develop intelligent features powered by AI — from search and recommendations to automated workflows 

• Influence high-impact technical decisions — balancing speed, scalability, and security in a production environment 

• Set the bar for engineering excellence with strong foundations in quality, reliability, and developer experience 

Engineering Innovation 

• Turn bold ideas into reality — rapidly prototyping with AI (LLMs, multi-agent systems) and bringing the best ones into production 

• Work on projects emerging from hackathons, incubators, and pilot teams — shaping solutions that real agencies will use 

• Partner closely with product leaders and agencies to solve real public-sector challenges with technology 

• Experiment, learn, and iterate quickly — using sandbox environments and real user feedback to refine impactful solutions 

• Thrive in a role that blends deep engineering with innovation, where your work directly shapes how government builds and scales ideas 

Quality & Team 

• Ensure quality through testing, monitoring, and reliable releases 

• Contribute to developer tooling, code reviews, and team practices 

[What we are looking for] 

Required 

• Experience with TypeScript/React (Next.js), Python (FastAPI) and developing solutions using AI such as Claude Code 

• Comfortable with databases (e.g. MongoDB) and full-stack feature delivery 

• Experience building with LLMs, including evaluating and improving outputs 

• Able to document designs and communicate with technical & non-technical stakeholders 

Good to Have 

• Experience with headless CMS, GovTech platforms, or agentic systems 

• Experience in agile roles, innersourcing, or open-source projects
