Job Overview:
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach is responsible for planning, delivering, and supervising rhythmic gymnastics training programs for gymnasts of varying ages and abilities. The role emphasizes athlete development, technical excellence, safety, and fostering a positive learning environment aligned with the Academy’s values.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Training
- Plan and conduct rhythmic gymnastics training sessions in accordance with the Academy’s curriculum and training framework.
- Teach and demonstrate correct techniques for body elements, apparatus handling (hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon), choreography, and routines.
- Adapt coaching methods to suit different age groups and skill levels (recreational, developmental, competitive).
- Monitor gymnasts’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
Athlete Development & Welfare
- Ensure the physical safety and well-being of all gymnasts during training.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.
- Identify individual strengths and areas for improvement and communicate progress to Head Coach, gymnasts, and parents when required.
- Support gymnasts’ preparation for assessments, demonstrations, performances, and competitions.
Competition & Events
- Prepare gymnasts for competitions, trials, showcases, and events.
- Assist during competitions, including warm-ups, floor supervision, and athlete support.
- Follow competition rules, codes of points, and judging requirements where applicable.
Administration & Communication
- Maintain accurate attendance, training records, and progress notes.
- Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, and management.
- Support enrolment activities, trial classes, camps, and promotional events when required.
- Adhere to Academy policies, child safeguarding standards, and workplace procedures.
Professional Conduct
- Represent the Academy professionally at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other coaches, choreographers, and support staff.
- Participate in meetings, training, and professional development as required.
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in sports science, physical education, sports, or sports teaching equivalent. (Educational background in Rhythmic Gymnastics would be a distinct advantage.)
Experience:
- 1-2 years of coaching experience in rhythmic gymnastics.
- Knowledge of FIG Code of Points.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
Skills:
- Ability to use age-appropriate approaches to motivate and train gymnasts.
