Role: Field Network Engineer
Location: Singapore
We are partnering with a leading telecom client to hire a Field Network Engineer as part ofEnterprise Field Operation Team plays a key role in supporting enterprise services and are responsible in link testing, installation, testing and maintaining equipment’s such as routers, switches, convertors and Telecommunication equipment’s for the enterprise services.
Responsibilities:
- To support field activities both on-site & off-site, such as configuration & installation, equipment management, also submission of site access requests, assignment of orders to engineers or vendors.
- Liaise with stakeholders (PM, AM, Teir3, vendors etc ) to support link testing & activation and ensure end-to-end connectivity.
- Configure routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP, static routes) on routers as per network design.
- Conduct acceptance tests: RFC2544, BER tests, OTDR tests, signal level measurements, ping/trace tests
- Validation circuit design with test result to determine compliance with the design/contract specifications
- Document test results and sign off with customer/operations.
- Troubleshoot service outages across transmission layers (L1/L2) and IP/MPLS layers (L3).
- Diagnose hardware faults in routers, switches, fiber, power units, and transmission nodes.
- Restore degraded links or alarms (LOS, LOF, AIS, low signal, link flap).
- Liase with NOC or vendor when required.
- Tracking of order closure & status
- Prepare site reports, installation logs, maintenance checklists.
- Update CPE inventory records in system
- Record fault history and recommendations.
- Verification of vendor’s claims
